You’ve finally gotten your membership site running smoothly. Your excellent online marketing skills have convinced many that you have the best membership software. Your membership site is booming! How can you keep it going strong? The secret is to keep your members engaged and interested—you will always be actively trying to find and recruit new members, but the members you already have are solid gold and should be handled with some care.

Encourage lively discussion forums: Sometimes discussion forums get crowded with newbies, and people just finding their way through the initial stages of their online business. It’s important that you continue to provide information for the more advanced crowd, too. If they are getting information from you about how to continually take their business to the next level, they will stick around to see what you have to say. Perhaps offering a beginner level, filled with common Q&A, and a more advanced level is one idea.

Member login and registration: Make sure that participants in the discussion forum for your membership site have to login and provide some very basic registration information. This will help you develop a profile that can assist you in keeping an eye on your target audience, give you a deeper understanding of what they are looking for in the forum, and help you to keep the discussions as relevant as possible.

Incentives: Is there some way for you to offer an incentive to current members if they are able to refer others to your membership site? Think about possibly offering an e-book, a small discount on their monthly membership subscription, access to additional content, or some other treat that would keep them interested and motivated to continue with your membership site.

These are just a few simple strategies you can use to help you keep your members engaged. The only way to truly build your membership site is to retain current members while continuing to attract new ones! Be sure that your members and recruits know exactly why your membership system is the best one available!
